My journey as a creative in finance
I’m a child of the Caribbean, born and raised in Martinique, french-speaking, where upon finishing high school I decided to become an accountant for two reasons. One, I’ve always been attracted to numbers and two, I was one of those serious kids, to my parents' delight.
After obtaining my accounting degree and MBA from Paris and Philadelphia, I settled in London for twelve years working and building my career as a finance professional for large corporates (yes I also partied and then I became a mother so there was less of that). Twelve years in the great city of London and I was still not ready to connect with my creativity. For reasons above my pay grade, this only happened when I moved to Aotearoa seven years ago.
Wanting to get out of my comfort zone, I stood on the stage of a theatre and there was no going back. I’ve since taken up acting and writing on a professional level and featured in several screen and stage projects including in my own play, Po boys & Oysters which was shortlisted for the prestigious Adam Award and which premiered in Auckland in 2022.
So here I am, an accountant, an actor and a writer willing to bring all my professional knowledge in support of what I’m passionate about, creativity. So if you're a creative entrepreneur and needing to speak to an accountant who REALLY gets you and your craft, get in touch!
